If the mean of five numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, and x is 2.4, then find the value of x.

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 1

Mean = (Sum of the numbers/total numbers)

Mean = 1+2+3+5+x5 \frac{1+2+3+5+x}{5}

2.4 = 11+x5 \frac{11+x}{5}

12 = 11 + x

x = 12 - 11 = 1
