SSC CGL 2023 PYQ — Question 59

SSC CGL - 21 July 2023 - Shift 4 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q59

If the inner radius of a hemispherical bowl is 5 cm and its thickness is 0.25 cm, then find the volume of the material required in making the bowl. (use π =227\frac{22}{7})

(Rounded up to two places of decimals).

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 41.28 cm³.

Given that

Inner radius = r =  5 cm

Outer radius = R = 5 + 0.25 = 5.25 cm

Volume of hollow hemisphere = 23\frac{2}{3}π(R3 - r3)

Volume = 23\frac{2}{3} × 227\frac{22}{7} × (5.253 - 53) = 23\frac{2}{3} × 227\frac{22}{7} × 19.7 = 41.28 cm3
