If the height and diameter of a cylinder are 12 cm and 28 cm, respectively, then find the ratio of the total surface area to the curved surface area.

Total surface area of cylinder = 2πr(r+h)2\pi r(r + h)

Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh2\pi rh

Given, diameter = 28 cm

⇒ Radius = 14 cm

Now, required ratio = 2πr(r+h)2\pi r(r + h) : 2πrh2\pi rh

⇒ (r + h) : h

⇒ 14 + 12 : 12

⇒ 26 : 12 = 13 : 6
