If tan A = 2.40.7\frac{2.4}{0.7}, what is the value of (50 cos A + 24 cot A)?

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 21

tan A = 2.4/0.7

⇒ P/B = 2.4/0.7

So, H2 = P2 + H2

H2 = 2.42 + 0.72

⇒ H2 = 5.76 + 0.49

⇒ H = 2.5

Now, (50 cos A + 24 cot A) = [50 × (0.7/2.5) + 24 × (0.7/2.4)]

⇒ [20 × 0.7 + 10 × 0.7]

⇒ 14 + 7 = 21
