If sin A = 110\frac{1}{\sqrt{10}}, then find the value of tan A + sec A.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. (1+10)3\frac{(1+\sqrt{10})}{3}.

sin A = 110\frac{1}{\sqrt{10}} = PHP\over H

here, P = Perpendiculr, H = Hypotaneous, B = Base

⇒ B2 = (10\sqrt10)2 - (1)2

⇒ B2 = 10 - 1 = 9

⇒ B = 3

⇒ tan A = 131\over3

⇒ sec A = √103√10\over3

So,

tan A + sec A = 131\over3 + √103√10\over3 = (1+10)3\frac{(1+\sqrt{10})}{3}
