If k+1k−2 = 0k+\frac{1}{k}-2\,=\,0 and k > 0, then what is the value of k17+1k12k^{17}+\frac{1}{k^{12}}?

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 2.

k + 1/k - 2 = 0

⇒ k2 - 2k + 1 = 0

⇒ (k - 1)2 = 0

⇒ (k - 1) = 0

⇒ k = 1

Now, K17 + 1/K12 = (1)17 + (1)12 = 1 + 1 = 2
