Given that, cot⁴Φ − cot²Φ = 1

⇒ cot⁴Φ = 1 + cot²Φ

⇒ ${\cos^4Φ \over \sin^4 Φ} = cosec^2Φ$

 ⇒ ${\cos^4Φ \over \sin^4 Φ} = {1 \over \sin^2​Φ}$

⇒ cos⁴Φ = sin²Φ

According to the given question,

⇒ cos⁴Φ + cos²Φ

⇒ sin²Φ + cos²Φ = 1

Hence the required answer is 1.
