SSC CGL 2019 PYQ — Question 77

SSC CGL - 6th June 2019 - Shift 1 • Reasoning • Q77

If CAB is coded as 6 and BED is coded as 40, then how will HAD be coded as?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 32.

The pattern here is that the numeric values of all the alphabets are multiplied.

C = 3, A = 1, B = 2

The code is given by the multiplication of these place values.

CAB = 3 × 1 × 2 = 6

Similarly, BED = 2 × 5 × 4 = 40

Therefore,

HAD = 8 × 1 × 4 = 32

Hence, the correct answer is 32.
