If an eleven-digit number 6578x43267y is divisible by 72, then the value will be:(x+6y)(\sqrt{x + 6y})

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 4

According to the question

6578x43267y is divisible by 72

For divisible by 72 the no. should be divided by 8 & 9.

The divisibility rule of 8 is if the last three digits of a no. is divisible by 8 then the whole no. is divisible by 8.

The divisibility rule of 9 is if the sum of digits of a no. is divisible by 9 then the whole no. is divisible by 9.

Now, the last 3 digits 67y is divisible by 8 when y = 2

The sum of digits = 6 + 5 + 7 + 8 + x + 4 + 3 + 2 + 6 + 7 + 2 = 50 + x

This is divisible by 9 if x = 4

 The value will be:(x+6y)(\sqrt{x + 6y}) = (4+6∗2)(\sqrt{4 + 6 * 2}) = 4
