If a right circular cone of height 24 cm has a volume of 392 π cm3, then the curved surface area is:

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 175 π cm2.

The height of the right circular cone = 24 cm

Volume = 1/3 π r2h = 392 π cm3

1/3 π r2 × 24 = 392 π

r2 = 49

r = 7 cm

l = r2+h2\sqrt{r^2+h^2}

l = 72+242\sqrt{7^2+24^2}

l = 25 cm

Curved surface area = πrl

=  π × 7 × 25 = 175 π cm2
