Understanding/Application

GIven,

a% of 240 = c

c% of a = 117.6

As given 

a x (240/100) = c

a x (12/5) = c

a/c = 5/12

Let the numbers are a = 5y and c = 12y

Given, c% of a = 117.6

c x (a/100) =117.6

(12y x 5y /100) = 117.6

60y2=11760

y2 = 196

y = 14

We need to find the value of a + c = 5y + 12y = 17y

a + c = 17 x 14 = 238
