If ‘A’ denotes ‘+’, ‘B’ denotes ‘×’, ‘C’ denotes ‘–’, and ‘D’ denotes ‘÷’, then what will come in place of ‘?’ in the following equation?

(84 D 14) A 17 C 13 B (75 D 15) A 9 B 7 =?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 21.

Given equation: (84 D 14) A 17 C 13 B (75 D 15) A 9 B 7 =?

After interchanging the expression becomes:

= (84 ÷ 14) + 17 − 13 × (75 ÷ 15) + 9 × 7

= 6 + 17 − 13 × 5 + 9 × 7

= 6 + 17 − 65 + 63

= 23 - 65 + 63

= 23 - 2 = 21
