If a : b = b : c, then what is the value of a6 : b6?

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 3 i.e. a3 : c3.

Calculations:

We have, a/b = b/c ⇒ ac = b2 

Put a = 9, b = 3 and c = 1

Thus, the value of a6 : b6 = 96 : 36 = 312/36 = 36

From the options, we can check that, only option 3 gives such value.
