SSC CGL 2023 PYQ — Question 58

SSC CGL - 24 July 2023 - Shift 3 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q58

If ab=76\frac{a}{b}=\frac{7}{6}, then find the value of the expression 6a+13b6a−13b\frac{6a+13b}{6a-13b}.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. −103-\frac{10}{3}.

a/b = 7/6

⇒ a = (7/6)b

Now, 6a+13b6a−13b\frac{6a+13b}{6a-13b} = [6(7/6)b + 13b]/[6(7/6)b - 13b]

= (7b + 13b)/(7b - 13b)

= 20b/(-6b)

= -10/3

Therefore, the value of the expression is -10/3.
