SSC CGL 2023 PYQ — Question 56

SSC CGL - 26 July 2023 - Shift 4 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q56

If A = 22.5°, what is the value of 102\sqrt2sin2A - 72\sqrt2cos2A + 9tan2A ?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 12.

A = 22.5° then, 2A = 45°

⇒ 102\sqrt2sin2A - 72\sqrt2cos2A + 9tan2A

⇒ 102\sqrt2sin45° - 72\sqrt2cos45° + 9tan45°

⇒ 102×12−72×12+9×110\sqrt{2} \times {1\over \sqrt2}- 7 \sqrt{2} \times{1\over\sqrt2} + 9 \times1

⇒ 10 - 7 + 9 = 19 - 7 = 12
