SSC CHSL 2021 PYQ — Question 62

SSC CHSL - 19 April 2021 - Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q62

If 43x2+5x−23=(Ax+2)(Bx+C),{{4\sqrt3x^2+5x-2\sqrt3=(Ax+2)(Bx+C),}} , then what is the value of (A + B + C)? (A > 0)

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 4.

43x2+5x−23=(Ax+2)(Bx+C),{{4\sqrt3x^2+5x-2\sqrt3=(Ax+2)(Bx+C),}}

⇒ 43\sqrt3x2 + 8x - 3x - 23\sqrt3= (Ax + 2)(Bx + C)

⇒ 4x(3\sqrt3 + 2) - 3\sqrt3(3\sqrt3 + 2) = (Ax + 2)(Bx + 2)

(3+2)(4x−3)=(Ax+2)(Bx+C)(\sqrt3+2)(4x-\sqrt3)=(Ax +2)(Bx+C)

Comparison on Both side

A = 3\sqrt3

B = 4

C = -3\sqrt3

So, the value of A + B + C = 4
