If 2x + 3y = 17 and 2x+2-3y+1 = 5, then:

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is Option3 i.e. x = 3,  y = 2

Given that

If 2x + 3y = 17

put x = 3 and y = 2

23 + 32 = 8 + 9 = 17 it satisfies the equation

And the value =  2x+2  - 3y+1 = 23+2 - 32+1 = 32 - 27 = 5

it also satisfies the given equation

Hence, we say x = 3 and y = 2
