If 24√3 x3 + 5√5 y3 = (2√3x + √5y) (Ax2 + Cy2 + Bxy) then what is the value of (A2 – B2 + C2) ?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option is 1 i.e. 109

24√3 x3+ 5√5 y3 = (2√3x + √5y) (Ax2+Cy2+Bxy)

⇒ 24√3 x3+ 5√5 y3 = 2√3 Ax3 + 2√3Bx2y + 2√3Cxy2 + √5Ax2y + √5Bxy2 + √5Cy3

Comparing the coefficient:

A = (24√3)/(2√3) = 12 and C = 5

2√3 B + √5 A = 0

⇒ B = -12√5/2√3 = - 2√15

Hence,

(A2 – B2 + C2)

= (122 – (- 2√15)2 + 52)

= (144 – 60 + 25)

= 169 – 60

= 109
