The T.V. and the computer has been blamed for reduced reading habits amongst children.

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. has been blamed.

  1. The error lies in option 2 because of the wrong use of "Subject-verb agreement".
  2. We need to replace "Has" with "Have" to make the statement grammatically correct.

Grammatical concept:- 

  • Subjects and verbs must AGREE with one another in number (singular or plural). Thus, if a subject is singular, its verb must also be singular; if a subject is plural, its verb must also be plural. 
  • The subject of the given statement is "T.V. and the computer" which is considered to be the plural compound noun hence, we need to use a plural verb here.
  • The chosen option contains the Grammatical Error hence, it will be the correct choice.
