Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 11.

The smallest two-digit number is 10.

⇒10 / 8 = 1.25

The first two-digit multiple of 8 is:

⇒ 8 ×  2 = 16

The largest two-digit number is 99.

⇒ 99 / 8 = 12.375

The last two-digit multiple of 8 is:

⇒ 8 × 12 = 96

The two-digit multiples of 8 are the numbers:

16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96

The total number of terms in this sequence (an) = a1 + (n - 1) × d

(an = 96), (a1 = 16), (d = 8)

⇒ 96 = 16 + (n - 1) × 8

⇒ 96 - 16 = (n - 1) × 8

⇒ 80 = (n - 1) × 8

⇒ n - 1 = 10

⇒ n = 11
