Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 3 i.e. 19.2 kg

Given that

The rice costing Rs.60 per kg must be mixed with 24 kg of rice costing Rs.42 per kg.

There may be a gain of 12% by selling the mixture at Rs.56 per kg

CP of the mixture = 56 × 25/28 = 50 Rs per kg

Let x kg rice costing Rs 60 per kg

According to the question

60x + 42 ×24 = 50 ×(x + 24)

10x = 8 × 24

x = 19.2 kg
