The correct answer is option 1 i.e. Five.

  • Bees have 5 eyes.
  • Bees need eyes not only to pick up colors and UV markings in flowers, as well as shapes, but also to navigate.  Thus the two sets of eyes are adapted to perform different tasks simultaneously. 
  • As well as two large eyes either side of its head, a bee has three 'simple' or 'ocelli' eyes on the top of its head. These detect light (but not shapes), meaning that a bee can sense if it is being approached from above by a predator.
