Given θ1+θ2=π2\theta_1 + \theta_2 = \frac{\pi}{2} and sin⁡θ1=12\sin \theta_1 = \frac{1}{2}, find the value of θ2.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. π3\frac{\pi}{3}.

Given that, sin⁡θ1=12\sin \theta_1 = \frac{1}{2}

⇒ θ1=π6\theta_1 = {\pi \over 6}

According to the given question,

θ1+θ2=π2\theta_1 + \theta_2 = \frac{\pi}{2}

⇒ π6+θ2=π2{\pi \over 6} + \theta_2 = \frac{\pi}{2}

⇒ θ2=π2−π6 \theta_2 = \frac{\pi}{2} - \frac{\pi}{6}

⇒ θ2=2π6 \theta_2 = \frac{2\pi}{6} = π3\frac{\pi}{3}

Hence the value of θ2 is π3\frac{\pi}{3}.
