A. Anush was very afraid of stray dogs.

B. Anush’s mother saw the dog chasing her son.

C. One evening, when a street dog barked at him, Anush turned and started running.

D. The dog ran after him barking loudly and fiercely.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. ACDB.

  • Statement A is independent and introduces the theme of the paragraph "Anush "  hence, it will be the opening statement.
  • Statement C talking about an incident hence, C will come after A.
  • Statement D shows the result of the incident hence, D will come after C.
  • Finally, B will come at the end of the statement.
  • Now we have the final arrangement i.e. ACDB.

The chosen option is the same as the final arrangement hence, it will be correct.

Some common rules that help while solving the Para Jumbles:-

  1. Read the paragraph carefully and try to comprehend the idea or theme of the paragraph and eliminate the irrelevant options.
  2. Try to identify the opening (Independent statement) and closing statement (Concluding statement).
  3. Try to identify the mandatory pairs. Two sentences can be connected through various connectors.
