A. Saranda forests, in Singhbum, are a huge catchment for rivers and streams in this state.

B. If these forests are opened up for mining purposes the remaining rivers and streams will dry up.

C. The state of Jharkhand faces water scarcity every summer.

D. These forests are India's largest contiguous Sal forests and the current plan says mining should not be allowed in the dense forest as rivers are drying up.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. CADB.

  • Statement C is independent and introduces the theme of the paragraph "Jharkhand " hence, it will be the opening statement.
  • The rest of the statement is talking about the "Saranda forests" and it is for the first time used in statement A hence, A will come after C.
  • Statement D and B will come respectively.
  • Now we have the final arrangement i.e. CADB.

The chosen option is the same as the final arrangement hence, it will be correct.

Some common rules that help while solving the Para Jumbles:-

  1. Read the paragraph carefully and try to comprehend the idea or theme of the paragraph and eliminate the irrelevant options.
  2. Try to identify the opening (Independent statement) and closing statement (Concluding statement).
  3. Try to identify the mandatory pairs. Two sentences can be connected through various connectors.
  4. If a statement starts with Pronoun, find the noun for which the pronoun is used, both the statements containing noun and pronoun will form a pair respectively.
