Given below are four jumbled sentences. Select the option that gives their correct order.

A. Aesop was one of them who lived in Greece about 2500 years ago.

B. He told many interesting stories to the people.

C. There were many talented people in ancient Greece.

D. Although he was ugly, he had a very clever brain.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. CADB.

  • Statement C is independent and introduces the theme of the paragraph "Talented People" hence, it will be the opening statement.
  • Statement A contains the pronoun "Them" that is used for the noun "Talented People" hence, A will follow C.
  • Statement D and B will come respectively as they continuously add information to the paragraph.
  • Now we have the final arrangement i.e. CADB.

The chosen option is the same as the final arrangement hence, it will be correct.

Some common rules that help while solving the Para Jumbles:-

  1. Read the paragraph carefully and try to comprehend the idea or theme of the paragraph and eliminate the irrelevant options.
  2. Try to identify the opening (Independent statement) and closing statement (Concluding statement).
  3. Try to identify the mandatory pairs. Two sentences can be connected through various connectors.
  4. If a statement starts with Pronoun, find the noun for which the pronoun is used, both the statements containing noun and pronoun will form a pair respectively.
