Formula used:

tanθ = perpendicular/base       ----- (1)

Calculations:

Let BC be the distance between the boat and the ship

Using equation (1), we get

⇒ tan 60 = AB/BC

⇒ √3 = 180/BC

⇒ BC = 60√3
