Four numbers are in the ratio 2 : 3 : 5 : 7 and their HCF is 6. What is the sum of the squares of the largest and the smallest numbers?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 1908.

The ratio of the four numbers = 2 : 3 : 5 : 7

HCF of the numbers = 6

So, the largest number = 7 × 6 = 42

Smallest number = 2 × 6 = 12

The sum of the squares of the largest and the smallest numbers = 422 + 122 = 1764 + 144 = 1908
