Four brothers P, Q, R and S go to a hotel. They book four hotel rooms numbered 301, 302, 303 and 304. The Sum of room numbers of P and R is 603 and the sum of room numbers of R and S is 604. What is the sum of room numbers of P, Q and R?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 907.

Understanding

According to the question;

Sum of room numbers of P and R = 603

Sum of room numbers of R and S = 604

Room numbers are 301, 302, 303 and 304.

So 301 and 302 can be room numbers of P or R but not necessarily in the same order.

Similarly, 301 and 303 can be room numbers of R or S but not necessarily in the same order.

From the above two conditions we can say that;

Room number of P: 302

Room number of Q: 304

Room number of R: 301

Room number of S: 303

The sum of room numbers of P, Q and R is 907.

Hence, option 1 is the correct answer.
