Let a and b be two numbers then the mean proportional of a and b = $\sqrt {ab}$

So, 

The mean proportional of squares of $\frac {x} {y}$ and $\frac {y}{z}$ = $\sqrt {\frac{x^2}{y^2}\times \frac{y^2}{z^2}}$ = x/z
