Find the gain percentage, given that Siddhi sold her scooter for ₹24318 gaining 161\over6th of the selling price.

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 20%.

Given that, SP of scooter = ₹24318

Gain =   161\over6th of the selling price

Let the selling price of the sccoter be 6x.

⇒ Profit = x

Now, CP = SP - Profit

⇒ CP = 6x - x

⇒ CP = 5x

Given, SP = 24318

⇒ 6x = 24318

⇒ x = 4053

Now, CP = 5x

⇒ CP = 5 × 4053

⇒ CP = 20265

Profit = 24318 - 20265

⇒ Profit = 4053

Profit percentage = 405320265×100{4053 \over 20265} \times 100

⇒ 0.2 × 100 = 20%

Hence the gain percentage 20%.
