Dumhal is a famous folk dance performed by the Wattal tribe of the Kashmir Valley. The dancers wear distinct, long, and colorful robes along with tall conical caps that are often studded with beads and shells. A key ritual involves digging a banner into the ground, around which the men dance in a rhythmic fashion, accompanied by the deep beat of drums.
