Application

Diagonals of a trapezium ABCD with AB II CD intersect each other at the point O. 

And

AB = 2CD

 

AB : CD = 2 : 1

Triangles AOB and COD are similar triangles.

So,

Area of AOB : Area of COD = AB2 : CD2

= 22 : 12

= 4 : 1
