SSC CGL 2019 PYQ — Question 8

1. Option 1 has a grammatical error. 'Daily' here as an adverb cannot occur alone or at the beginning. The correct way to place adverbs is after nouns/adjectives/verbs, otherwise the sentence will sound incorrect.
2. Option 2 is incorrect because the tense changes. The question denotes present tense 'feeds' whereas the option/sentence denotes past tense 'was fed'.
3. Option 3 is the correct answer because as the rules state, the object in active voice 'the stray dog' becomes the subject in passive voice and the subject in active voice 'somebody' becomes the object in passive voice. The tense is also correct, where even if we use a corresponding past tense (in this case, 'is fed') it still indicates the present time and makes the same sense as the sentence in the given question.
4. Option 4 is incorrect as the sentence indicates future tense by using 'will be'.
