B is 20% more than A and C is 25% more than B. If C = 330, then what will be the value of A?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 220.

Understanding/Application

B is 20% more than A.

C is 25% more than B.

Let the value of A be 5, then the value of B be 6.

A/B = 5/6 ....(1)

Let the value of B be 4, then the value of C be 5.

B/C = 4/5  ...(2)

Now, value of B is different in both.So, L.C.M of 6, 4 = 12

Multiplying eq(1 by 2 and eq(2 by 3.

A/B/C = 10/12/15

ATQ -

C = 15x = 330

x = 22

The value of A = 22(10) = 220
