Ashok runs 2232 {2{} \over 3} times as fast as Bharat. If Ashok gives Bharat a head start of 160 m, then how far must the winning post be so that Ashok and Bharat can reach it at the same time ?

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 256m 

Given that

⇒Ashok runs 2232 {2{} \over 3} times as fast as Bharat

If Ashok gives Bharat a head start of 160 m

⇒Ashok's speed = 8/3 of the speed of Bharat

⇒It means Ashok gained 5 m in a race of 8 m

Hence, 160 m is gained by Ashok in a race of = 160 × 8/5 = 256 m.
