Arrange the students B, C and D according to the ascending order of the aggregate marks scored by them.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

 The correct answer is option 1 i.e. B, D, C

Application

Fair calculation

The aggregate marks scored by B = (50 × 6/15) + (50 × 5/15) + (30 × 4/15) = 44.66

The aggregate marks scored by C = (70 × 6/15) + (80 × 5/15) + (60 × 4/15) = 70.66

The aggregate marks scored by D = (80 × 6/15) + (70 × 5/15) + (30 × 4/15) = 63.33

Hence,

The ascending order = B, D, C

(50 × 6/15) + (50 × 5/15) + (30 × 4/15)

= (300 + 250 + 120)/15

= 670/15 = 44.66

(70 × 6/15) + (80 × 5/15) + (60 × 4/15)

= (420 + 400 + 240)/15

= 1060/15 = 70.66

(80 × 6/15) + (70 × 5/15) + (30 × 4/15)

= (480 + 350 + 120)/15

= 950/15 = 63.33
