Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 2 i.e. Rs.1,68,000.

Total money = ₹5,00,000

40% invested at 6% for 4 years

60% invested at 8% for 5 years

P1 = 40% of 5,00,000 = 2,00,000 Rs (first investment)

SI1 = P×R×T100\frac{P \times R \times T}{100}  = 2,00,000×6×4100\frac{2,00,000 \times 6 \times 4}{100} = ₹48,000

P2 = 60% of 5,00,000 = 3,00,000 Rs (second investment)

SI2 = P×R×T100\frac{P \times R \times T}{100}   = 3,00,000×8×5100\frac{3,00,000 \times 8 \times 5}{100} = ₹1,20,000

Total SI = ₹48,000 + ₹1,20,000 = ₹1,68,000
