SSC CGL 2023 PYQ — Question 61

SSC CGL - 21 July 2023 - Shift 4 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q61

An arc on a circle, whose length is 19.25 cm, subtends an 18° angle at the centre. What is the area of the circle? [Use π=227\pi=\frac{22}{7}]

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 11790.625 cm²

360° corresponds to a perimeter of 2πR

⇒ 18° corresponds to = 2πR × 18360\frac{18}{360}

According to the question

2πR × 18360\frac{18}{360} = 19.25

⇒ R = 269544=61.25\frac{2695}{44} = 61.25

Area of circle = πR2 = 227\frac{22}{7} × (61.25)2 = 11,790.625 cm2
