Amar, Akram and Vaibhav together can complete a work in 20 days. If Amar can work thrice as faster than Akram and Akram can work twice as faster than Vaibhav. then in how many days Vaibhav alone can complete the same work?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 180 days.

Given that, time taken by Amar, Akram and Vaibhav to complete work together = 20 days

Total work = Efficiency × Number of days

Let thye efficiencies of Amar, Akram and Vaibhav be x, A and V respectively.

According to the given question,

⇒ A = 2V

And x = 3A

⇒ x = 6V

Let the total work to be done be 180 units.

Total work = Efficiency × Number of days

⇒ 180 = (x + A + V) × 20

⇒ 9 = (6V + 2V + V)

⇒ 9V = 9

⇒ V = 1 unit/day

Now, time taken by Vaibhav to complete the total work = 1801180 \over 1

⇒ 180 days

Hence the required answer is 180 days.
