Aman, Ram, and Kapil can complete a work in 68 days, 51 days, and 17 days respectively. If they work on alternate days such that Aman works on first day, Ram works on second day, Kapil works on third day and then again Aman works on fourth day and so on, then find the approximate number of days in which 50% of the work is completed.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 2 i.e. 17 days

Total work = LCM of 68, 51, and 17 = 204

1-day work of Aman 204/68 = 3

1-day work of Ram 204/51 = 4

1-day work of Kapil 204/17 = 12

50% of the work = 204/2 = 102

Aman, Ram, and Kapil total work completed in 3days = 3 + 4 + 12 = 19 units

Aman, Ram, and Kapil work in 15 days = 19 × 5 = 95

On 16th day Aman will work -

Work completed = 95 + 3 = 98

On 17th day Ram will work -

Work completed = 98 + 4 = 102

Required time to complete work = 17 days
