According to rules laid down by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), what can be the maximum length of a goal line in football?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 90 m.

  • According to the rules laid down by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), the maximum length of a goal line in football is 90 meters (110 yards).
  • This applies to professional and international matches. The goal line, along with the touchlines (sidelines), must be of a specific length to maintain standardization across all football pitches.
  • For standard adult play, the length of the goal line should also not be less than 45 meters (50 yards). This ensures uniformity in field dimensions for competitive games.
