Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 35 %.

Marked price of laptop = 80% above the cost price

Discount = 25%

SP = MP ×100−D100\times{ {100 -D}\over 100}

Profit = SP - CP

Profit percentage = PCP×100{P \over CP} \times 100

Let the cost price of the laptop be 100x.

According to the given question,

MP = 180% of 100x

⇒ MP = 180x

SP = 180x ×100−25100\times{ {100 - 25}\over 100}

⇒ SP =  180x ×75100\times{75\over 100}

⇒ SP = 135x

Now, profit = 135x - 100x = 35x

Profit percentage = 35x100x×100{35x \over 100x} \times 100 = 35%

Hence the profit percentage is 35%.
