A triangular prism has a base area of 30 cm2. If the height is increased by 25%, what is the new volume (original height was 12 cm)?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer  is option 3 i.e. 450 cm3.

Volume of prism = Base area × Height

Initial volume of prism = 30 × 12

⇒ 360 cm

New height = 12 × 125/100 = 15 cm

New volume = Base area × New height

⇒ 30 × 15 = 450
