A train covers a distance of 225 km in  2122\frac{1}{2} hours with a uniform speed. The time taken, in hours , to cover a distance of 450 km  with the same speed is :

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 5

Given:

Distance = 225 km

Time = 2122\frac{1}{2}

Concept Used:

distance = speed ×time

Explanation:

D= S × T 

225 = S ×  5/2 

S = 90 Km/h 

Now,  if D= 450 Km and S = 90 Km/h

time = D/ S= 450/90 = 5 hours 

Hence the time taken to cover a distance of 450 km is 5 hours.
