A tea seller bought 10 kg of Darjeeling tea at ₹320 per kg and 20 kg of Assam tea at ₹280 per kg. He mixed them together. Due to a drop in market prices, he had to sell the entire mixture at ₹300 per kg. Calculate his total profit or loss.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. Profit of ₹200.

CP of Darjeeling tea = 10 × 320 = 3200

CP of Assam tea = 20 × 280 = 5600

Total CP = 3200 + 5600 = 8800

Total quantity = 10 + 20 = 30 kg

SP = 30 × 300 = 9000

Profit = 9000 - 8800 = 200
