Ratio

Total sum = 4360

It was to be divided among A, B, C and D in the ratio of 3 : 4 : 5 : 8, but it was divided in the ratio of 13 : 14 : 5 : 8

When it is divided in 3 : 4 : 5 : 8:

3x + 4x + 5x + 8x = 4360

20x = 4360

x = 218

So,

Share of A = 3 × 218 = 654

Share of B = 4 × 218 = 872

Share of C = 5 × 218 = 1090

Share of D = 8 × 218 = 1744

When it is divided in 13 : 14 : 5 : 8:

13x + 14x + 5x + 8x = 4360

40x = 4360

x = 109

So,

Share of A = 13 × 109 = 1417

Share of B = 14 × 109 = 1526

Share of C = 5 × 109 = 545

Share of D = 8 × 109 = 872

Difference in shares:

A: 1417 – 654 = 763 More

B: 1526 – 872 = 654 More

C: 1090 – 545 = 545 Less

D: 1744 – 872 = 872 Less

4360/20 = 218

4360/40 = 109
