Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 496

Given:

A sum of Rs. 3596 is divided between A, B and C in the ratio 16:18:19\frac{1}{6} : \frac{1}{8} : \frac{1}{9}.

Calculations:

Required ratio of A, B and C = A : B : C = 12 : 9 : 8 (Multiply by 72(LCM))

According to the question;

Let the numbers be 12x, 9x and 8x

⇒ 12x + 9x + 8x = 2596

⇒ 29x = 2596

⇒ x = 124

Value of A = 1488

Value of B = 1116

Value of C = 992

Required difference between A and C = A - C

= 1488 - 992 = 496
