If the sum received by Cyrus was ₹1,800 less than the sum received by Mishti, how many rupees did Rohan receive as his share?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. ₹8,400.

Cyrus : Rohan = 3 : 2 and Rohan : Mishti = 7 : 12

⇒ Cyrus : Rohan : Mishti = 21 : 14 : 24

Let Cyrus's share = 21x; Rohan's share = 14x; and Mishti's share = 24x

24x - 21x = 1800

⇒ 3x = 1800

⇒ x = 1800/3 = 600

Rohan's share = 14x = 14 × 600 = 8400
