Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 96 km.

The speeds of A and B are 8 km/h and 24 km/h respectively.

The distance covered by A = 8 × 8 = 64 km

Relative speed = 24 km/h - 8 km/h = 16 km/h

Time required for B to catch A = 64/16 = 4 hours

The distance from the starting point when B catches A = 4 × 24 = 96 km

Therefore, the distance from the starting B can catch A is 96 km.
